MEXC Review 2027

MEXC lists more tokens than most rivals and charges almost nothing on spot, but its offshore licence and risky new listings call for caution.

Most people who land on MEXC are looking for one thing: a token that is not listed anywhere else yet. This MEXC review looks at whether the exchange is a sensible place to chase those listings, what it charges, and where its weak points sit. Founded in 2018 and based in the Seychelles, according to CoinGecko, MEXC has built its name on listing speed rather than on regulation.

Who MEXC Suits

MEXC fits experienced traders who already understand the risks of small, newly launched tokens. It also suits active spot traders who want to keep commission close to zero.

It is a poor match for beginners who want a tightly regulated venue. If your plan is to buy Bitcoin once a month and hold it, a more regulated exchange is likely the better home.

Token Selection and Products

The catalogue is the main draw. CoinGecko tracked 1,398 coins and 1,777 trading pairs on MEXC in November 2026, while Coin Bureau counts more than 3,000 cryptocurrencies. The gap reflects different counting methods, but either way the range is very large.

That breadth has a cost. Many of the newest tokens are high risk, with thin trading and unproven projects behind them. Treat early listings as speculation, not investment.

Beyond spot, MEXC offers:

  • Futures and margin trading
  • Earn products
  • Copy trading
  • A Launchpad and Kickstarter area for new token launches

What You Pay

MEXC's own fee guide, dated November 2025, lists zero maker fees on spot and a low taker fee, with a 50% discount for users holding at least 500 MX tokens. CoinGecko shows a higher spot figure for the exchange, so the sources do not line up.

The safe reading is that spot trading is very cheap. Check the official fee page for your account before relying on a specific rate.

Low commission does not remove every cost. On illiquid tokens, a wide gap between buy and sell prices can cost more than any fee.

Security Record

According to Coin Bureau, MEXC publishes monthly proof of reserves, with audits carried out by the security firm Hacken. CoinGecko records no security incidents for the exchange.

Proof of reserves shows that assets exist at a point in time. It does not guarantee solvency, and it will not protect you if the business itself fails. Keep only your active trading balance on the platform.

Regulation and Where MEXC Is Available

This is the weakest part of the picture. CoinGecko lists an International Crypto License from Comoros, which is an offshore framework rather than a major financial regulator. Our research found no EU, UK or US licence.

MEXC is not available in:

  • United States
  • United Kingdom
  • Canada
  • Singapore
  • Hong Kong

Using an exchange from a restricted country can break its terms of service and put your funds at risk, so confirm your eligibility first.

Opening an Account

Sign up through the official website, turn on two-factor authentication straight away, and complete any identity checks requested. Start with a small deposit and a test withdrawal before you move larger sums.

MEXC Review Verdict

MEXC delivers what it promises: a huge list of tokens and very low spot costs, supported by monthly reserve reports. The trade-off is light offshore oversight and a market crowded with risky new coins.

For experienced altcoin traders outside the restricted countries, it is a useful tool. Anyone who values investor protection should weigh the regulatory gap carefully before depositing.
